Update (March 1, 2010): This promotion will end March 15, 2010. Applications must be postmarked by March 13, 2010.

Happy holidays, everyone! We’re excited to announce we’ve got a great 2-for-1 deal to offer for commuters willing to park their cars and try the Lynx.

What’s a lynx? Isn’t that some kind of a cat? Actually you’re right, but in this case you’ll be riding WestCAT’s transbay express bus, the Lynx, from Hercules to San Francisco’s Transbay Terminal (near Mission & 1st).

Beginning January 4, 2010, those who purchase a 31-day Lynx transbay bus pass will receive a second pass free. The cost of a 31-day pass is $140 for the general public and $70 for seniors. Only one free 31-day pass can be issued per household per year.

To sign up for the promotion or to review eligibility requirements, please download the Buy 1 Get 1 Free WestCAT Lynx Application. Applications will also be onboard WestCAT Lynx buses.

The free 31-day pass is sponsored by 511 Contra Costa and made possible with grants from the Bay Area Air Quality Management District’s Transportation Fund for Clean Air and the Contra Costa Transportation Authority’s ½ cent sales tax for Transportation Improvement Projects.
