Employers or multi-tenant building managers in Contra Costa may register with 511 Contra Costa for a variety of complimentary transportation support services. There is no obligation by registering and participation is voluntary.
Employee Transportation Surveys
Worksites and employers may sign up for the annual employee transportation survey. This useful tool can assist employers in determining how their employees are getting to work, and what hinders them from trying commute alternatives.
Pre-tax Commuter Benefit
The Commuter Benefit accounts are funded from pre-tax dollars and lower the employees taxable income as well as the employer’s contributions to Social Security. Contact your financial advisor or human resources for more information on this program or visit Commuter Check or WageWorks.
Financial Incentives for Carpooling, Vanpooling, and Transit and a Guaranteed Ride Home Program

Employee Health Fair/Transportation Events

511 Contra Costa works with local transit agencies to organize transportation fairs at worksites to inform employees of the many options available to them. Click here to request a transportation fair at your worksite.
Bicycle Lockers, Racks, and Maps
Employers and multi-tenant building managers may request bicycle lockers and racks for their worksites from 511 Contra Costa. Bike maps are provided upon request to employers registered with 511 Contra Costa.
Transportation Alerts
Employers can receive transportation alerts on Spare the Air days, special events, highway closures, and mass transit service interruptions.
Corporate Relocation Assistance
When employers relocate, it can be disruptive to employees. 511 Contra Costa works with employers and multi-tenant managers to assist in setting up vanpools and carpools, distributing the local transit bus routes and BART schedules, and providing other information and coordination to make the transition a smooth one.
511 Contra Costa supports the EPA’s “Best Workplaces for Commuters” campaign by providing free assistance to local employers who would consider providing commuter benefits to their employees. Visit the EPA’s site for more information.
The Employer Based Trip Reduction (EBTR) program provides assistance in the development of worksite initiatives aimed at increasing the number of employees using public transit, carpools and vanpools, and to improve worksite access and parking for bicyclists and pedestrians. 511 Contra Costa works with the 511 Rideshare Program to promote rideshare campaigns sponsored by the Regional Rideshare Program. The EBTR program is funded by the Bay Area Air Quality Management District, the Contra Costa Transportation Authority, and the Metropolitan Transportation Commission. 511 Contra Costa is a partner agency to the Regional 511 Program.
