Bike to Work 2001

Bike Today, Contra Costa County’s Bike to Work Day promotion, was held May 17, 2001. There were over 500 participants from Contra Costa County alone. Participants were surveyed to find out if they were first-time cyclists and the distance of their commute trip. Approximately 20% of the participants reported that they cycled for the fist time on Bike Today, and the average commute distance traveled was 19 miles.
